Dartmouth Christmas Bird Count 4 Kids – Dec 2019 Session of the Nature Guardians Chapter

Date/Time

Saturday, December 21, 2019
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Description

It’s here! The 2020 Christmas Bird Count!

The Nature Guardians will be participating in an exciting citizen science project on December 21st tracking bird populations in Canada (and beyond!) Become a scientist for the day, learn how to ID our feathered neighbours, and contribute to valuable environmental research. The Christmas Bird Count for Kids is a super fun bird-watching and citizen science project coordinated by Bird Studies Canada and led by local naturalists across the country. YNC Chapters participate every year and it’s always a blast!

While most of our Nature Guardians sessions are “tweens”-only, we are making the Christmas Bird Count open to all family members. If you would like to attend with your young bird-lover, just send Becky an email confirming your attendance. We are saving most spaces for YNC member families so let Becky know quickly if you would like to join us. Any open spots will be given to new and prospective members.

You can reach Becky at YNCNS@YNCNS.ca or 902-412-2726

Can’t make it? There are other Christmas Bird Counts happening in the HRM and across Nova Scotia! Check out the map.
