Halifax Chapter – Hike to Blue Mountain Summit

Date/Time

Sunday, November 24, 2019
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Description

We made it! Here are some of our intrepid hikers at the Blue Mountain summit in 2018 (photo by Ryan Fisk).

Okay, so it’s not exactly a “mountain” in the ice-capped sense of the word. But Blue Mountain is the highest point of land in HRM, and we can hike there without sherpas or oxygen tanks! Join us on a hike to Blue Mountain, with a fun little natural history challenge along the way.

We’ll meet at the end of Anahid Drive, in the Kingswood Subdivision. Meet at 1pm so we can all head in together. We’ll return to our parking area by 3:30pm.

For the hike, dress warmly (in layers), and wear solid, water-proof footwear. It is also recommended to wear hunter orange where possible, including on your head (e.g., orange hat). Although hunting is not permitted on Sundays, we do know that people hunt (and trap) in this area.

To register, send an email to Karen at ynchalifax at yncns dot ca.
