Description

NATURE GUARDIANS BEACH CLEANUP!

Our last session of the school year! The Nature Guardians are going to the beach! Silver Sands Beach to be specific, to do do a quick cleanup using Great Canadian Shoreline guidelines, look for birds, and maybe try our hand at salt-water water quality monitoring if the conditions are right.

We’ll meet by the Cow Bay Moose inside the parking lot at our usual time of 2pm. Make sure to rsvp with Becky beforehand, and remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, lots of water, and a snack!

Nature Guardians is a program just for 10-14 year olds, where no parent or guardian supervision is required on our once-a-month field trip. This program takes an open, group-oriented approach where our youth participants help plan what we do each month. Recently, the Nature Guardians planned and implemented a number of stewardship projects at Shubie Park in Dartmouth, including native species plantings, on-going water quality monitoring, and nest box installations. Are your nature nuts interested in real conservation action? New participants are always welcome! Because parent/guardian supervision is not required, all Nature Guardian trips and events require an up-to-date membership and an RSVP so that we can plan for managing group size safely. Thanks for your planning and understanding!
