Dear Young Naturalists Club Friends,

We would like to invite you to another Family Hike.

This time we picked a beautiful trail in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park: Salmon Pools. We are going to walk the first kilometre or so, which has a lot of opportunities for exploration and play, as well as amazing views (especially now with the leaves being on the ground to play with).

This part of the trail works well for strollers and balance bikes to keep our younger children happy.

Oak-, maple-, birch- and beech trees, woodpeckers and squirrels guaranteed. Most times we see an eagle, and sometimes an owl…

Pack a sandwich, warm clothes and enjoy a picnic lunch on the shore of the Cheticamp River.
