East Hants Chapter Leaders – Allison Gilby & Katie Scott

There is no place Allison would rather be than deep in the forest or beside the ocean, and she loves to share her enthusiasm for the natural world with others.  On weekdays you will find her adventuring with the children in her nature playschool and tending to her little hobby farm; on weekends she is usually heading farther a field to check out some new-to-her nature spot or visiting an old favourite. It brings her much pleasure to share these spaces and experiences with others, including the families who are a part of the Young Naturalists Club. Email Ally at allyclair @hotmail.com

Growing up along Nova Scotia’s rural south shore is where most of Katie’s inspiration for nature-based learning comes from, although she has found many sources of inspiration in the past 6 years living in East Hants. Her pairing of Biology focused education and a Bachelor of Education has led to a career as an environmental educator. Katie is passionate about exploring natural places with her two sons and creating opportunities for others to join in- which is just what she does volunteering with the Young Naturalists Club!
