Pollinator Count and Bee Friendly Activities

Pollinator Count & Bee Friendly Activities

On Saturday, June 15th we gathered in the community gardens on the grounds of the Drs Coady & Tompkins Memorial Library in Margaree Forks to look for pollinators. Michelle Smith from Seeds of Diversity Canada gave us lots of information and tips about the pollinators we might see. Unfortunately due to the cold, wet spring and lack of blossoms we saw very few. We did see a couple of bumblebees and sweat bees.

We also tried our hands at making beeswax wraps to help reduce the plastic in our lives and we each took home a striped Bumblebee Cherry Tomato to plant in our own gardens.
