The Ross Creek Centre for the Arts hosted a Community Welcome Day for new arrivals to Nova Scotia from Syria, and also the broader community. We held nature hikes and provided nature index cards with translations and images to help bridge language gaps. It was a great experience to reflect on how our natural environment is at the heart of the history, stories and experiences that help define us as Canadians.
