Description
For our October field trip we’ll journey to the highest point of land in HRM: Blue Mountain. Okay, okay… it doesn’t have a snowy peak or anything, but it is still a pretty cool place. Especially for lichen! We’ll be joined by none other than one of Nova Scotia’s most well-known lichenologists, Frances Anderson. She literally (co-) wrote the book on lichens of Northeastern Nova America!
We will head in to Blue Mountain – Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area using a trailhead in the Kingswood subdivision. To get directions to the start of the hike, register with Karen at ynchalifax at yncns dot ca.
