Description
The City Nature Challenge begins in mere days! Starting Friday, April 29, and running till Monday, May 2, any nature observations you put into iNaturalist will contribute to HRM’s “score” in this friendly competition between cities. Also competing in Nova Scotia this year: Cape Breton Region and Annapolis Valley.
The YNC Halifax Chapter will contribute observations during a field trip to Sandy Lake Regional Park (Bedford) next Sunday, May 1, at 1pm. We’ll visit a few distinct ecosystems in the park so that you get a nice diversity of living things to see and hear. Bring you smartphones or cameras!
To register for the field trip, just send an email to Karen (ynchalifax@yncns.ca) and let her know how many people will attend from your family.
Make sure to check out the other City Nature Challenge events being hosted in HRM, including a hike along the Lake William Trail, and a visit to Abraham Lake Nature Reserve. Even divers are participating in the CNC!
