Nine adults and seventeen young members of the Pictou County Young Naturalist Club were greeted by Quita and the friendly staff of Sugar Moon Farm.

We began in the beautiful log restaurant. With the fire crackling in the fireplace we ordered from the menu, which even included gluten free options. We relaxed and socialized while enjoying our delicious meal.

After our meal and browsing through the maple products on display, Quita and her daughter, Samara, gave us a informative and interactive presentation on the history and process of producing maple syrup in Nova Scotia. Our tour ended with making Sugar on the Snow….a tasty treat and the perfect way to end a perfect afternoon.

Some members enjoyed a walk on the Cape to Cape Trail, a beautiful wilderness trail that loops from the Sugar Moon Farm parking lot.

It was a wonderful day. I am sure many of our members will be returning to Sugar Moon Farm during the Sugar Season (March and April).
